Call handler denies claiming he was a paramedic

An ambulance call handler accused of multiple rapes has denied placing stickers on his work pass to hide his role so he could claim to be a paramedic.

Jamie Kadolski, 24, of Ladysmith Road, Norwich, is accused of 13 sexual offences which were said to have been committed over an 18-month period against four women.

He said he placed the stickers on his pass to hide personal data.

Mr Kadolski denies the charges against him and said all the sexual activity was consensual. The trial continues at Norwich Crown Court.

‘Used stickers to hide role’

Mr Kaolski worked as a call handler for the East of England Ambulance Service and his work identification pass was shown to the jury.

The prosecution said that he used stickers to hide his more junior role, so he could claim to the women he met that he was a paramedic.

Mr Kadolski told the court that he used stickers to hide personal information, but the prosecution labelled this as “another blatant lie”.

“It is absolutely nonsense you put a sticker on for data sensitivity,” prosecution barrister Anne Whyte KC said.

Mr Kadolski has been accused of 15 sexual offences, but on two charges the jury has been told that he has no case to answer.

The charges include four allegations of rape against one woman between August and December 2022.

The jury had previously heard that when questioned by officers he said he would not be able to pin someone down as he had been “sexually abused as a child”.

Mr Kadolski is accused of two counts of assault by penetration and attempted strangulation with intent to commit rape or sexual assault.

Other counts include sexual assault and assault by penetration on a second complainant in January 2023.

A third woman is said to have been sexually assaulted in September 2023, while a fourth is alleged to have been raped in January this year.

Mr Kadolski denies all the charges.
