One person was seriously injured Friday afternoon after leading law enforcement on a pursuit across county lines that ended in a crash.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, law enforcement was notified that a Chevrolet Corvette was reported stolen out of Wise County — near the DFW metroplex — and was reported to be traveling west on Texas Highway 114 towards Levelland.

A DPS Trooper in the area found and attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the driver failed to stop, which initiated a pursuit around 12:57 p.m.
The vehicle was pursued south on farm-to-market Road 2646 towards FM 1585. The pursuit went back North on FM 2646, across TX 114, and ended in a crash around FM 2646 and Alaska Road at 1:08 pm East of Levelland.
According to DPS, the driver was transported to UMC for severe injuries he received during the crash.
The passenger in the stolen vehicle was not transported to the hospital as they had bailed out of the vehicle around FM 2646 and FM 1585. According to DPS, he was released without any charges after being briefly detained.
The driver’s identity or other details surrounding the incident have not been released at this time.
